Top-seeded Frenchwoman Amelie Mauresmo has reached her second tennis final in as many weeks, by defeating Alicia Molik of Australia in the semifinals of the Diamond Games in Antwerp, Belgium.
The world number-two Mauresmo played an attacking style of tennis Saturday, as she held off the fifth-seeded Molik, 6-3, 7-6. Mauresmo will face either number-three American Venus Williams or second-seeded Anastasia Myskina of Russia in the final.
Williams moved into the semifinals by ending the comeback of home-country favorite Kim Clijsters, 6-2, 6-3 in the quarterfinals. Williams meets Anastasia Myskina in the later semifinal, after the Russian beat Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia, 7-6, 6-2.
