“미국은 일본 상공을 넘어 날아간 북한의 탄도미사일 발사를 규탄한다”고 국무부가 밝혔습니다.
[국무부 대변인실 관계자] “The United States condemns the DPRK’s ballistic missile launch that flew over Japan. We are coordinating closely with Japan and the Republic of Korea.”
국무부 대변인실 관계자는 3일(미국 시각), 일본 열도를 통과한 북한의 중거리 탄도미사일 발사에 대한 VOA의 논평 요청에 “우리는 일본, 한국과 긴밀히 조율하고 있다”면서 이렇게 말했습니다.
이어 “이번 발사는 유엔 안전보장이사회가 만장일치로 통과시킨 다수의 결의안에 대한 명백한 위반이며, 북한의 불법적인 대량살상무기(WMD)와 탄도미사일 프로그램이 북한 주변국과 역내 전체에 가하는 위협을 보여준다”고 비판했습니다.
[국무부 대변인실 관계자] “This launch is a clear violation of multiple resolutions, unanimously passed by the United Nations Security Council, and demonstrates the threat the DPRK’s unlawful weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs pose to the DPRK’s neighbors and the region as a whole.”
이 관계자는 “우리는 국제사회와 함께 북한에 추가 도발을 자제하고, 지속적이고 실질적인 대화에 관여할 것을 촉구한다”고 강조했습니다.
[국무부 대변인실 관계자] “Together with the international community, we call on the DPRK to refrain from further provocations and engage in sustained and substantive dialogue. Our commitments to the defense of the Republic of Korea and Japan remain ironclad.”
그러면서 “한국과 일본에 대한 우리의 방위 공약은 여전히 굳건하다”고 덧붙였습니다.
