Sony Releases Michael Jackson's Posthumous Album

On October 27, Sony Music will release the posthumous Michael Jackson album, This Is It. The double CD coincides with the release of a movie of the same name, which will be released in theaters on October 28. The film documents Michael's rehearsals for the 50 London concerts that were to begin in July of this year. Jackson died after suffering cardiac arrest on June 25. Movietickets.com and Fandango.com report that more than 1600 screenings have sold out.

Springsteen, U2, Paul Simon to Perform During Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Anniversary Concert

On October 29 and 30, New York's Madison Square Garden will host concerts to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Performers include Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, U2, Paul Simon, Metallica, Eric Clapton, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Simon & Garfunkel and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Proceeds from ticket sales will go to a permanent endowment for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation and Museum.

New Stewart Release Features Soul Classics

On October 26, Rod Stewart's Great American Soulbook album will be released. The collection features Stewart's interpretations of soul classics from the 1960s and '70s. They include the Stylistics' "You Make Me Feel Brand New," the Miracles' "Tracks of My Tears," Stevie Wonder's "My Cherie Amour" and Louis Armstrong's "Wonderful World," among others. Guests on the album include Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige, Smokey Robinson and Jennifer Hudson.

Chris Brown Takes a Break from Community Service

On October 27, hip-hop singer Chris Brown will take a break from performing community service in Virginia to appear at a radio station concert in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Also on the bill are Keri Hilson, Fabulous, The-Dream, Mario, Trey Songz, Day26 and Ginuwine. Brown has just released the ballad "Crawl," which is the second single from his upcoming album, Graffiti. The album will be out in December.

Swift Releases Expanded Version of 'Fearless'

19-year-old Country star Taylor Swift will release an expanded version of her multi-million-selling Fearless album on October 27. Fearless Platinum Edition includes six new songs, plus a DVD with photos, tour footage and videos.

Musical Events/Festivals/Benefits

The 14th Annual Bermuda Music Festival will take place October 29-31. This year's lineup includes John Legend, Patti Austin, Kenny Rogers, Michael McDonald, James Ingram, Erykah Badu, Wyclef Jean, Naturally Seven and Quincy Jones & Orchestra. Jones will receive the African Diaspora Award in recognition of his contributions to culture and humanity.

The 2009 Voodoo Music Experience will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana October 30 - November 1. Headliners include Eminem and D12, Kiss, Jane's Addiction, Lenny Kravitz and Widespread Panic. More than one hundred other artists will perform on two main stages and several smaller stages. The three-day event was first organized in 1999.

Look Who's Going On Tour!

On October 27, Jewel will begin a 16-city tour in Baltimore, Maryland. This year, Jewel recorded Lullaby at her home studio in Texas. She says, "This isn't just a kids' album, it's really a mood album - perfect to relax to at the end of a long day. It will soothe and lull children, but was also written and sung for adults to enjoy and unwind with." She's currently writing songs for her second Country album. Jewel's debut Country release, Perfectly Clear, reached Number One on the U.S. Country Albums chart. Tour dates will wrap up on November 15 in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Eric Benet, Ledisi and Mint Condition will kick off their "Sexy Soul Tour" on October 29 in Houston, Texas. Benet says, "Good music will find an audience. This isn't just R&B, it's a lot of stuff. All of us together will be bringing a whole lot of stuff to the stage, giving the fans what they want to hear and see - incredible music by their favorite artists." Sixteen shows are planned through December 6th.

On October 30, Country singer Luke Bryan will begin his first headlining tour. The 17-city outing will support his new album, Doin' My Thing. Dates start in Jacksonville, Florida and wrap up in Milledgeville, Georgia on December 5.
