That's right, it's here at last, the definitive Kenny G duets album, featuring Kenny performing alongside some of the most trusted names in pop, jazz, country and R&B.
Who wouldn't want to record a duet with Kenny G, one of today's most successful instrumental recording artists. He's been on television, his music on film, and for past two decades he's toured all over the world. Gladys Knight jumped at the chance to record with him, singing "Misty," as did Daryl Hall on "Baby Come To Me."
Kenny G's Duets comes 28 years after signing up for his first professional job with the Love Unlimited Orchestra, and 22 years after the release of his debut album.
Since then, Kenny has become an international star, blending just the right amount of light pop melodies and smooth jazz on a string of hit albums. On his way up the charts, he found time to record with other famous performers, such as Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston and Frank Sinatra.
One of Kenny G's favorite musicians, who along with the late Grover Washington, Jr., inspired him to play saxophone, is David Sanborn. They pair up on "Pick Up The Pieces."
Although the album is a sure-fire, star-studded effort, the real stars are the songs, handpicked by the "G Man" himself and described by Kenny as "timeless:" "Alfie" featuring the song's creator Burt Bacharach; "At Last" with trumpeter Arturo Sandoval; "The Music That Makes Me Dance" sung by Barbra Streisand; "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" with LeAnn Rimes; and "The Way You Move" with soul veterans Earth Wind And Fire.
