U.N. verified at least 9,701 civilian deaths in Ukraine by September. Kyiv maintains the figures are ten-fold higher. The 11,000 deaths in Gaza are not independently verified. They also do not differentiate between combatant and civilian casualties. -

The photograph is an award-winning document of Bashar Assad regime’s destruction of the western city of Homs, the rebels’ stronghold during the Syrian civil war. -

The Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hospital said it welcomed a thorough investigation from third parties, then dismantled at least part of the lab at the center of the controversy. -
