Natalie Liu
Natalie Liu is an award-winning journalist. Her feature story on legendary Soviet dissident Natan Sharansky was awarded First Place in Multimedia/Online Journalism at the 2017 Chesapeake Associated Press (AP) Broadcasters Association contest. Natalie joined VOA in 2002 upon graduation from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service (MSFS). In addition to Georgetown, she has studied history, government and literature at The University of Pennsylvania, Harvard and Peking University. Prior to VOA, she covered international news for The Washington Times and CBS News. She researches and publishes in both English and Chinese, with an emphasis on diplomacy, geostrategic culture, and democratization. Outside of work, her interests include music, Classical Chinese, calligraphy, and comparative intellectual history.
