World Health Organization officials at the Paris climate conference say as many as a quarter of a million people may die as a result of global warming by the year 2030, mainly from malnutrition, malaria, and heat exposure, and mostly in poorer countries. The report came as summit delegates discussed the need for developed nations to do more to help developing countries meet carbon emissions goals and ease the suffering of their people.
