Virtual Reality in Filmmaking Immerses Viewers in Global Issues

“Famine,” “Feast,” “Fire” and “Ice” is a four-part documentary on Climate change. The series premiered at AFI Docs, the American Film Institute’s Documentary festival in Washington, D.C. It was made using virtual reality technology that gives viewers a 360-degree view of the destructive consequences of climate change on our planet. VOA’s Penelope Poulou spoke with filmmaker Eric Strauss about the impact of virtual reality technology on filmmaking and on viewers.
