Proposed NYC Museum Touts Trash as Treasure
New York City's Department of Sanitation picks up more than 12,000 tons of refuse and recyclables every single collection day. And, through the efforts of one man with a dream, the Sanitation Department has its own museum-like collection of trash — that has become what he calls a "treasure." The collection is now housed in a Sanitation Department garage, but may one day be open to the public. VOA's Bernard Shusman reports from the M-11 Sanitation Garage in New York City.
