Many Indians were duped into joining the Russian Army under false promises. Some joined on their own accord as a way to earn money. Tejpal, a 29-year-old from Punjab, India, enlisted after seeing an online advertisement for the Russian Army. After joining in January 2024, he was soon posted to the front lines of the war with Ukraine and never heard from again. After an agonizing wait for answers, his wife, Parminder, learns the truth.
