Post-Irma, Miami’s ‘Little Haiti’ Continues to Struggle

Miami, Florida may have escaped the worst of Hurricane Irma, but in the city's ethnic enclave known as ‘Little Haiti’ — a low-income community that is home to Haitian, Caribbean and Latin American members of the African diaspora -- residents who felt the damaging wrath of hurricane winds must now contend with Florida's sweltering heat. Ramon Taylor reports that while electrical power is slowly being restored in some Miami neighborhoods, Little Haiti still lacks electricity.
