The defense for South African runner Oscar Pistorius has rested its case in his murder trial, leaving only closing arguments before the judge decides his fate.
Lawyer Barry Roux told the court Tuesday he had called his final witness.
Judge Thokozile Masipa then adjourned the trial until August 7 and 8, when the court will hear the final arguments.
Both sides will file their arguments beforehand, and Masipa said Tuesday that neither is to be made public until it is presented in court.
Pistorius shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp at his Pretoria home in February 2013.
Prosecutors say he intentionally shot her, while Pistorius maintains he killed Steenkamp by accident, thinking she was an intruder.
If convicted, he could face life in prison.
Pistorius is know as the "blade runner" for his carbon fiber prosthetic legs. In 2012, he became the first double-amputee to compete in the Olympics.
