New Film 'Learning to See' Focuses on Insects, Photography
- By Greg Flakus
Robert Oelman left his career as a psychotherapist in Boston and went to Colombia, Ecuador and Peru to take photographs of insects. His macro images of these small, exotic creatures have helped entomologists discover and study new species. His son, Jake Oelman has made a film about him called "Learning to See," which recently was shown at the South by Southwest film festival, where VOA's Greg Flakus spoke to both father and son about the film and their fascination with tiny creatures.
