Israelis, Palestinians both hopeful, skeptical about ceasefire deal
update
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says a deal to return hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip has been reached. A statement released early Friday by the prime minister’s office said Netanyahu’s political-security Cabinet will meet Friday to approve the deal. If approved, the ceasefire agreement would begin on Sunday with the exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners, after which the terms of a permanent end to the conflict would be finalized.
