While President Donald Trump has a tense relationship with NATO allies, he seems to have warmer ties with a number of non-democratic leaders, including North Korea's Kim Jong Un, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin. But despite Trump's approach, a recent survey indicates a large majority of Americans support a traditional U.S. foreign policy based on strong military alliances, free trade and promoting democracy and human rights abroad.
