LIVE BLOG: Clinton Becomes First Woman Nominated for President

The Democratic Party made it official Tuesday, naming Hillary Clinton their candidate for president in 2016 – and making history by selecting the first woman to represent a major U.S. political party. Following the roll call vote, Tuesday's speakers included former President Bill Clinton as well as the Mothers of the Movement -- the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland and other young black victims of violence.

Washington casts 42 votes for Clinton and 74 for Sanders.

State delegates both chant "Bernie!" but equal cheers when Clinton's name is announced.

West Virginia casts 19 votes for Clinton and 18 votes for Sanders.

Wisconsin casts 49 votes for Sanders and 47 for Clinton.
