Chinese Volunteers Help Children in Need

A six-year-old girl in Yiwu is beaten to death by her own mother. Two girls in Nanjing die from starvation in their own home. A girl is found homeless in Shenzhen wandering in the streets with her mentally ill mother. Such repeated cases of child abuse in China have shocked the country and led to more attention to the protection of children’s rights. VOA’s Helen Wu has more on how a small child protection service center in Shanghai is doing what it can to help children in need.
