President Bush departs White House to attend United States Naval Academy graduation in Annapolis, Md, Friday |
Mr. Bush addressed the nearly 1000 men and women graduating Friday from the military academy in Annapolis, Maryland, who had enrolled just months before the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
President Bush thanked them for what he called their courageous decision to serve in the military and to defend the country from terrorists.
Mr. Bush also spoke about plans to reposition military bases abroad and close some at home to better meet future threats. He also discussed investing in new technology such as cruise missiles and submarines that will, in his words, redefine war on American terms.
