Tennis: Roddick, Henman Advance at Masters Cup Tournament

World number two tennis player Andy Roddick of the United States and Britain's Tim Henman have scored wins at the Tennis Masters Cup tournament in Houston, Texas.

Henman kept his semifinal hopes alive with a straight-set win over Guillermo Coria of Argentina 6-2, 6-2. The win evened the British player's record at 1-1 in round-robin play.

Roddick had a tougher time with former U.S. Open winner Marat Safin of Russia. The American was taken to a tiebreaker both times, but beat the Russian, 7-6, 7-6. Roddick is undefeated 2-0 at this event.

World number one Roger Federer of Switzerland finished undefeated in round robin play as he beat former French Open champion Carlos Moya of Spain 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.

The tournament features eight players divided into two groups of four. The top two finishers in each group after round robin play advance to the semifinals. An undefeated champion can earn more than $1 million.
