Pausing US foreign aid
Since taking office, President Donald Trump has quickly taken steps to enact policies in line with his vow of an “America First” agenda, including looking at how the U.S. spends its money. One of his first major actions -- a 90-day pause in U.S. foreign aid while the administration reviews whether the funding aligns with his foreign policy priorities. Aid groups and human rights watchdogs warn the freeze will put countless lives around the world at risk. We spoke with Dwight H. Perkins, Research Professor of Political Economy at Harvard University.
