Fishermen in Iraqi Kurdistan are still using an ancient fishing technique that has been passed down over the centuries. While some fish as a hobby, others in the northern city of Ranya, do it for living. They say the ancient method comes with a lot of challenges and requires patience, but is effective. VOA’s Rebaz Majeed spent a few hours with the fishermen of Ranya and filed this report narrated by Bezhan Hamdard.
