International relief organizations have converged on the city of Biera, Mozambique to provide emergency help to people affected the Cyclone Idai, which devastated parts of southeast Africa in March. According to the United Nations, the fierce storm killed more than 800 people, wiped out roads and bridges, damaged more than 100,000 homes, and destroyed nearly one million acres of crops.
