Activists: Russia is Backpedaling on Women’s Rights

For decades, Soviet – and later Russian - male politicians have prided themselves on allowing women equal opportunities and protecting them from discrimination. But statistics still show big disparities in pay for Russian women and Russian men. Domestic violence is another big problem after authorities eased penalties in 2017. Russian human rights campaigners and relatives of domestic violence victims sat down with VOA’s Igor Tsikhanenka in Moscow.
