In New York, orchestral music students from China perform classical compositions that mix western and eastern influences. In Washington, DC, a young Afghan émigré pursues a career in which he hopes to shake up conventional photography, and another émigré, from Ukraine, is developing her career in the US as an artist who uses the human body as her canvass.
