Senate Extends Deadline on Must Pass Spending Bill

The US Congress is back in session in what may prove to be a pivotal week for government services. Early Thursday, lawmakers extended the deadline for a $1 Trillion-plus short-term spending bill, which would have required the Senate to approve the measure by April 29th or risk a partial government shutdown. Despite the stop-gap measure, experts who spoke with VOA don’t expect a repeat of the 2013 government shutdown.
