Foes Protest Trans-Atlantic Trade Deals, Experts Say More Talks Necessary
Thousands of protesters gathered in Brussels on Tuesday to demonstrate against planned European Union trade deals with the United States and Canada, following a similar protest last week in Germany. Union members, environmentalists, rights activists, farming groups and ordinary citizens snarled rush-hour traffic in the heart of the Belgian capital to denounce the deals, which they say will harm working people and benefit large corporations.
