Americans are observing Gun Violence Awareness Day June 2 even as law enforcement officials are dealing with the aftermath of a shooting at the University of California in Los Angeles and earlier ones in Houston and Chicago. Mass shootings and homicides have become all too common in the United States, but the country remains divided over what to do about it.
