Energy Lacking at Annual Offshore Oil Conference
Depressed oil prices have dampened hydrocarbon exploration and development activity worldwide. Oil companies and the service industry that supports exploration and production have laid off tens of thousands of workers, so it comes as no surprise that attendance is down this year at the annual Offshore Technology Conference in Houston. But, as VOA’s Greg Flakus reports from Houston, a lot of oil services companies are there anyway, focusing on ongoing industry needs and an eventual recovery.
