US Justice Dept Opens Probe of Chicago Police
The U.S. Justice Department has started an investigation into the “pattern and practice” of the Chicago, Illinois police department to determine whether it violated federal law with its handling of use of force. This follows the release of a video last month showing the shooting death of a 17-year-old by a police officer in October 2014. But as VOA's Carolyn Presutti reports, the probe will not look just at that police involved shooting.
