A New Test May Avoid Unnecessary Chemotherapy

Breast cancer patients dread chemotherapy because of its many side effects, such as sickness and hair loss, together with potential lung, liver and bone damage. But studies show that some patients do not benefit from chemotherapy. A new gene-based test now helps doctors screen those patients and avoid the unnecessary treatment. VOA’s George Putic reports.
