California Wildfires Worst in Decades
There seems to be no end in sight to the wildfires that have been ravaging the drought-ridden western U.S. state of California this summer. The governor has declared a state of emergency for areas north of the winemaking Napa Valley, where flames have devoured almost half of a small town and thousands have been forced to flee their homes. Zlatica Hoke reports the region's air quality has deteriorated because of these incessant fires during the summer months.
