Scientific Data About the Sun Turned Into Art
- By George Putic
In 2010, NASA launched a spacecraft tasked with observing the activity of the sun and sending back data about its violent and potentially harmful electromagnetic storms. Recordings made by the craft cover a spectrum of light unobservable to the human eye. A small group of artists has managed to turn those recordings into stunning videos - which are now on exhibit at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, near Washington. VOA’s George Putic has more.
