Japan Marks 70th Anniversary of Hiroshima Bombing
Japan is commemorating the 70th anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which destroyed the cities and killed more than 100,000 people instantly. Many others died later from injuries and the effects of radiation. Following the August 6 bombing of Hiroshima, the United States dropped another bomb on Nagasaki on August 9. Less than a week later, Japan signed a surrender, which ended World War II. Zlatica Hoke reports.
