FBI Considers New Hate Crime Categories for Sikhs, Hindus, Arabs

U.S. lawmakers and advocacy groups are calling on the FBI to track hate crimes against Sikhs, Hindus and Arabs. Sikhs have become a particular target since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks because of their distinctive turbans and beards. The FBI is expected to make a decision next week [June 5 or 6]. VOA religion reporter Jerome Socolovsky met one Sikh who was assaulted at a Washington night club.
