Dressing Up Helps Students Improve Behavior and, Maybe, Grades
One day each week, more than 700 pre-teens come to Mayfield Intermediate School in Manassas, Virginia dressed like professionals. They wear suits, ties, nice dresses or skirts and blouses. It's a far cry from the usual jeans and sweatshirts common in American classrooms. Faiza Elmasry explores how the "Dress for Success" program can enhance students’ behavior and, educators hope, achievement in school and beyond. Faith Lapidus narrates our story.
