中国报复美国加征2000亿商品关税
中国表示，在美国特朗普政府对价值2000亿美元的中国商品加征10％关税之后，中国除了采取报复行动别无选择。这有可能导致世界两大经济体之间的贸易紧张局势进一步升级。
星期二，中国宣布对约600亿美元的美国商品加征关税。
中国商务部周二在网上公布的一份简短公告称:“中国决定对美国原产的约600亿美元商品实施加征关税”。公告说：“为捍卫国际自由贸易和自身合法权益，中方不得不同步实施报复性措施。”
特朗普总统星期一在一份声明中宣布，如果中国对美国农民或其他行业进行报复，华盛顿“将立即进入第三阶段，即再对约2670亿美元的中国进口商品施加关税。”
这额外2670亿美元的商品预计将涵盖所有中国对美国的进口。
美国对2000亿美元中国商品加征关税的措施将在9月24日的不到一周内生效，几乎没有上方坐下来谈判的时间。
在特朗普政府启动第一轮加征关税之前，中国的不公平贸易行为以及国有企业为中国不平衡的竞争环境所起的作用是美国进行调查的关键部分。
但中国愿意做出何种程度的改变尚不清楚。本月晚些时候将举行一次关于中国国营企业的会议，许多人预计这将是中共领导人计划未来如何做的一个指标。
China Retaliates for $200 Billion in US Tariffs
China says it has no choice but to retaliate to U.S. President Donald Trump's 10 percent tariffs on $200 billion in Chinese goods, risking a further escalation of trade tensions between the world’s two biggest economies.
On Tuesday, China announced a tariff hike on $60 billion of American products.
In a brief statement posted online Tuesday, China’s Commerce Ministry said, "To protect its legitimate rights and interests and order in international free trade, China is left with no choice but to retaliate simultaneously."
On Monday, President Trump warned, in a statement announcing his move, if China retaliates against U.S. farmers or other industries, Washington “will immediately pursue phase three, which is tariffs on approximately $267 billion in additional imports."
The additional $267 billion in tariffs is expected to cover all Chinese imports to the United States.
The $200 billion in U.S. tariffs go into effect in less than a week, on September 24, leaving the two sides little time to sit down.
Unfair trade practices and the way SOEs contribute to an unbalanced playing field in China are key elements of the investigation the Trump administration carried out prior to launching its first round of tariffs.
But how far China is willing to go to change is uncertain. Later this month, a meeting on SOEs will be held that many are expecting will be an indicator of the future course China’s Communist Party leaders plan to chart.

Trump Administration Cuts Refugee Admissions to 30,000
The Trump administration is drastically cutting the number of refugees it lets into the country.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced on Monday that just 30,000 refugees will be allowed in the United States in 2019, the lowest number admitted since the program was established in 1980.
The is a third less than the 45,000 cap President Donald Trump set for 2018.
Pompeo said the U.S. expects to process up to 30,000 refugees and 280,000 asylum seekers in fiscal year 2019, which begins on Oct. 1.
Pompeo insisted that the figure “must be considered in the context of the many other forms of protection and assistance offered by the United States.”
He cited national security as the main reason behind the reduction, saying the system did not allow for properly vetting the refugees for possible ties to terrorism.
During former President Barack Obama's last year in office, his administration admitted nearly 85,000 refugees.
