Jen: Oh my gosh. Are you hungry?
Julie: No, but I can have a half.
Jen: Really?
Julie: Just so that you can have it.
Jen: Ok!
Julie: You can’t come to Philly (Philadelphia) and not have Cheesesteak.
When all the presidents come, they go to this one place, Pat’s or Geno’s. It’s across the street. A lot of people have both.
Jen: So let me ask you, as a native of Philadelphia, which one do you like better?
Julie: I think Pat’s is better but then again, that debate has been going on for decades.

Let me ask you, 누군가에게 무엇인가를 물어보기전에 쓸 수 있는 표현인데요, 말그대로 하면, let me 제가 ~무엇 무엇 하게 허락해주세요 ask you 당신에게 질문을 하도록, 즉 제가 당신에게 질문을 하도록 해주세요라는 말입니다. 다시 말해, ‘뭐 하나만 물어볼께요.’라는 뜻이죠. 그래서 Let me ask you, as a native of Philadelphia, which one do you like better? 하면, 하나만 물어볼께요. 필라델피아 사람으로, Pat’s 와 Geno’s 중 어느 곳이 더 낫다고 생각하세요? 라는 뜻이죠.
