درگیری‌های سنگین روز یکشنبه نیز در شهر مرزی کوبانی ادامه یافت. به گفته شاهدان حاضر در محل و یک گروه ناظر بر اوضاع،نیروهای دولت اسلامی با بمب و خمپاره به نیروهای کرد حمله کردند.

به گفته گروه سوری ناظر بر وضعیت حقوق بشر مستقر در لندن، شبه‌نظامیان گروه موسوم به دولت اسلامی طی شب گذشته ۴۴ خمپاره به بخش‌هایی از کوبانی که تحت اختیار کردهاست شلیک کردند و شماری از خمپاره‌ها به داخل مرز ترکیه اصابت کرد. این گروه می‌گوید چهار خمپاره دیگر نیز روز یکشنبه شلیک شد.

ترکیه روز یکشنبه گفت نه حاضر است به نیروهای کرد اسلحه بدهد و نه با انتقال سلاح از طرف‌های دیگر به رزمندگان کردی که با نیروهای خلافت اسلامی بر سر کوبانی در حال جنگ هستند، موافقت می‌کند.

رجب طیب اردوغان، رئیس‌جمهوری ترکیه روز یکشنبه گفت نیروهای کرد در حال مبارزه با داعش را «برابر» با حزب کارگران کردستان (پ ک ک) توصیف کرد، که سی سال است برای خودمختاری در ترکیه مبارزه مسلحانه می‌کند. ترکیه و آمریکا پ‌ک‌ک را گروه تروریستی قلمداد می کنند.

اردوغان گفت: «این که آمریکا، متحد ما در ناتو، از ترکیه انتظار داشته باشد در حمایت از کردها جواب مثبت دهد بسیار غلط است. توقع چنین چیزی از ما غیرممکن است.»

اظهارات فوق چند روز پس از آن ایراد شده که آمریکا گفت با حزب سیاسی کردهای ترکیه موسوم به حزب اتحاد دمکراتیک مستقیما مذاکره کرده. این حزب با رزمندگان کرد در کوبانی در ارتباط است.

یک سخنگوی وزارت خارجه آمریکا گفته است که یک دیدار، به معنای هماهنگی در جنگ علیه گروه خلافت اسلامی (داعش سابق) نیست.

شامگاه شنبه باراک اوباما، رئیس جمهوری آمریکا با آقای اردوغان درباره وضعیت کوبانی و مقابله با آن تلفنی صحبت کرد.

کاخ سفید می گوید اوباما از این که ترکیه بیش از یک میلیون آواره سوریه، از جمله ۴۰۰ هزار تن از ساکنین کوبانی را پناه داده، از اردوغان سپاسگزاری کرد.

آمار مرگ و میر

گروه ناظر بر حقوق بشر سوریه می گوید در دو روز ۷۰ نفر از اعضای دولت اسلامی و هفت تن از نیروهای کرد کشته شده‌اند. این آمار از سوی منابع دیگر تایید نشده است.

مقامات آمریکایی می‌گویند نیروهای ائتلاف طی شب گذشته هشت حمله هوایی را علیه مواضع دولت اسلامی در سوریه انجام دادند.

صبح یکشنبه، اسکات باب، خبرنگار صدای آمریکا در مرز ترکیه و سوریه در مجاورت کوبانی گفت که این شهر تا قبل از ظهر آرام بود و بعد از ظهر بود که شلیک خمپاره آغاز شد.

اسکات باب به نقل از کردهای محلی گفت که وضعیت کوبانی کمی بهبود یافته و کردها توانسته اند‌کنترل برخی روستاهای مجاور را بدست آورند.

یک مقام ارشد کوبانی به خبرگزاری اسوشیتدپرس گفت که حملات هوایی نیروهای ائتلاف عملکرد نیروهای داعش را کند کرده اما حمله هوایی به تنهایی کافی نیست و نیروهای کرد به اسلحه و حمایت بیشتر نیاز دارند.
