منابع خبری در مصر از وقوع درگیری های مرگبار در این کشور در مراسم سومین سالروز قیام های مردمی آن کشور خبر می دهند که منجر به سقوط حسنی مبارک منجر شده بود.
مقامات دولتی مصر می گویند دست کم پنج نفر در تظاهرات ضد دولتی روز شنبه کشته شدند. خبرگزاری ها می گویند این تظاهرات چندهزار نفری در میدان تحریر قاهره و در حمایت از دولت فعلی مصر برگزار شد. همزمان، مسئولان پزشکی و بهداشتی می گویند دست کم 12 تظاهرکننده، کشته و مجروح شدند که برخی از آنان در وضعیت بحرانی به سر می برند. بسیاری از تظاهرکنندگان نیز بازداشت شده اند.
اخبار و گزارش ها حاکی است که پلیس به سوی تظاهرکنندگان گاز اشک آور پرتاب کرد. ویدئوها نیز نشان می دهد که تظاهرکنندگان حامیان دولت به سوی حامیان محمد مرسی و مخالفان دولت فعلی، رئیس جمهوری سابق سنگ پرتاب کردند.
همچنین در روز شنبه، گزارش ها از وقوع انفجاری در نزدیکی یک مقر پلیس در شهر سوئز خبر دادند. پیشتر، یک بمب در نزدیک مدرسه پلیس قاهره منفجر شده بود که تلفاتی در بر نداشت.
