نتایج اولیه آرا در کریمه حاکی است که اغلب رای دهندگان در همه پرسی به جدایی این منطقه خودمختار از اوکراین و پیوستن به روسیه رای داده اند.

میزان مشارکت در همه پرسی کریمه در روز یکشنبه حدود ۶۴ درصد تخمین زده شده است. خبرگزاری روسی ریا گفته است که حدود ۹۳ درصد رای دهندگان از پیوستن کریمه به روسیه رای داده اند.

کاخ سفید ساعتی پیش با صدور بیانیه ای رفراندوم جدا شدن کریمه از اوکراین را رد کرده و اقدامات روسیه را «خطرناک و بی ثبات کننده» توصیف کرد. این بیانیه می گوید روسیه با «پیامدهای پرهزینه به خاطر مداخله نظامی و نقض قوانین بین المللی» مواجه خواهد شد.

اتحادیه اروپا و شورای اروپا نیز با صدور بیانیه هایی در روز یکشنبه رفراندوم در کریمه را نامشروع خواندند و هشدار دادند که نتیجه آن در جامعه بین الملل پذیرفته نخواهد شد.
