جمعه یازدهم فوریه - حسنی مبارک از مقام ریاست جمهوری استعفا داد
عمر سلیمان معاون رییس جمهوری مصر دقایقی پیش اعلام کرد حسنی مبارک از مقام ریاست جمهوری استعفا داده است. وی همچنین گفت اینک نیروهای نظامی کنترل کشور را به دست گرفته اند. تلویزیون دولتی مصر همزمان با انتشار این خبر، تصاویر هزاران معترض مصری در میدان تحریر را پخش می کرد که از شنیدن خبر شادی می کنند. در همین حال ارتش انتقال قدرت از حسنی مبارک به عمر سلیمان معاون رییس جمهوری را تایید کرده و خواستار بازگشت شرایط عادی به کشور شده است.
