Sarah Zaman
Sarah Zaman is the Pakistan Bureau Chief for the Voice of America, based in Islamabad. Prior to the appointment, Sarah served as interim managing editor for web and digital platforms, editor, anchor, interim executive producer, and reporter for 15 years in VOA's Urdu Service in Washington D.C.
She has covered a diverse range of topics such as Pakistan' political and economic crises, U.S. elections, Black Lives Matter movement, U.S. foreign policy for Pakistan, Afghanistan and India, and issues facing Pakistani diaspora, and American Muslims. Sarah has hosted live global town halls for VOA on a variety of topics. In 2008 Sarah won a student Emmy Award for her documentary 'Bismillah' which followed a Muslim-American woman's run for city council in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Sarah has appeared on major international and Pakistani news channels as a panelist.
She holds a Master of Arts degree in documentary film production from the University of Florida.
