Mike Hove

Mike Hove is a multimedia journalist with VOA’s English to Africa Service based in Washington D.C. He has 10 years of broadcast experience in radio, television and digital media. 

Before joining the English to Africa Service, Hove hosted and produced a youth-focused trilingual simulcast program for the Zimbabwe Service, where he discussed a range of social and economic issues. He featured prominent guests from southern Africa, including international touring music producer DJ Stavo and Ntandoyenkosi Kunene, the winner of the Miss South Africa pageant in 2016. 

Hove started his broadcasting career in South Africa. After moving to the U.S., he was the host of “First Class” on KFAI-FM in 2015, a community radio station in Minnesota. The entertainment program featured several prominent African figures, among them, Ghanaian artist and entrepreneur M.anifest.
