Mahmud Lalo
Mahmud Lalo is a multimedia journalist with VOA's Hausa Service based in Washington D.C. Lalo reports for different platforms including Television, radio, newspaper, online and social media, focusing on various issues. He reports about politics and good governance, health, the environment and other human interest stories.
Lalo redesigned and created the content for Hausa service's weekly program “Duniyar Amurka,” a show that focuses on stories coming out of the U.S. The program provides in-depth analysis on U.S. politics, diplomacy, culture and entertainment. In addition to editing the Hausa Service's articles on the website and social media posts, Lalo also produces and edits a weekly radio program in Hausa titled “Special Reports.” The program hosts general topics from around the world.
Lalo presents a weekly TV show called “TASKAR VOA.” The show focuses on youth development and empowerment and features entertainment segments and news on social and political issues affecting youth in Nigeria.
Prior to joining VOA, Lalo worked with the BBC Hausa Service's Abuja Bureau, Radio France International Hausa Service's office in Lagos and newspapers in Nigeria including Media Trust, Weekly Trust, Tambari and Aminiya.
