Kathleen Struck
Kathleen Struck serves as Digital Managing Editor and Education Editor of Voice of America’s Student Union, an online community helping international students navigate the university experience in the U.S. Student Union focuses on the global youth audience.
Kathleen has worked as staff and freelance in print, photo, broadcast and digital media, including the Baltimore Sun, Washington Post, Stars and Stripes, Newsday, Globe and Mail, Everyday Health, and other major newspapers. She has a long history in management, and loves working with interns and new journalists.
She lived and worked for nearly 15 years in Jerusalem, Cairo, Tokyo and Toronto as a reporter and editor, traveling throughout Europe, Asia, the Mideast, Australia and North America. She also has deep experience in local news.
Kathleen is a graduate of the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism. In 2003-2004, she attended mostly military, defense and leadership courses at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University as an affiliate in the Nieman Fellowship program.
