A wiretapping scandal in Macedonia has plunged the country into a political crisis, and brought tens of thousands of people into the streets to protest what they see as the government's abuse of power and corruption. The United States has called upon the parties to reconvene Parliament, cancel elections, rescind the pardons, and recommit to an aggressive reform agenda. In the meantime, the unrest in the country has opened the doors to further Russian influence, according to experts.
