Jamal Osman

Jamal Osman reports for VOA from Mogadishu, Somalia. Previously, he worked with VOA's Somali Service based in Washington D.C. and also as a reporter for VOA's English to Africa Service in 2008. He began his broadcasting career working for Radio Afrikada Bari, a Somali-language radio program, and then joined Radio Shabelle in Mogadishu in 2006. He later worked for Radio Bar-kulan, a Nairobi-based Somali language program. As an international multimedia broadcaster with VOA's Somali Service, Osman produced different programs, including hosting a daily youth program and served as an anchor on "Qubanaha," a weekly TV show.
