Yemeni Prime Minister Khaled Bahah has rejected a Cabinet reshuffle ordered Tuesday by President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi, according to a senior government official.
Hadi said earlier Tuesday that he was replacing a series of government ministers, including Foreign Minister Riyad Yassin.
The official told the Reuters news agency that Hadi had made the changes without consulting Bahah, who also is Yemen's vice president.
The Saudi-backed Hadi returned to the southern port city of Aden last month after he was driven into exile by Iranian-backed Shi'ite Houthi fighters in March. He is trying to restore his authority in areas that his supporters have recaptured from the Houthis.
Before arriving in Aden, Hadi largely remained in Saudi Arabia as a Saudi-led coalition continued its offensive against the Houthis.
The fighting in Yemen has killed thousands of people, many of them civilians, and led to what the United Nations called a humanitarian crisis in the country.
