WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange appeared in a London court Monday to fight attempts to extradite him to Sweden because of sex crime allegations.
Swedish prosecutors want to question Assange about allegations of sexual assault and rape made by two women.
Lawyers for the 39-year-old Australian are expected to argue that the extradition request is not acceptable because he has not been charged with a crime.
The defense also says that if Assange is extradited to Sweden, he could be passed on to the U.S., where they claim he could face imprisonment in Guantanamo or the death penalty.
