JAKARTA —
A massive explosion at an Indonesian naval ammunition warehouse in Jakarta has killed at least one person and injured 87 others.
Officials say an electrical short circuit may have caused the explosion Wednesday.
Admiral Marsetio, the navy's chief of staff, said the blast was made worse by the contents of a recent shipment.
"There were some high explosives in that warehouse that were just unloaded from the ship," he said. "The high explosives caused a powerful blast."
Naval officials say at least 10 other buildings were damaged in the blast, which is under investigation.
